The University of the Internet,
Education in the air.
Scamsters, mobsters, teamsters,
And ladies fair -
They’re all here,
Slicking, combing, tearing at,
Or brushing
Their oily, black, greasy,
Or curly long hair.
You don’t need a high GPA
To get accepted here,
Or A-Level GCEs –
Or a rich daddy.
Just an ISP
And sometimes,
You can get that for free.
Then what?
A billion connected brains,
With a billion different trains
Of thought,
Put their minds together
And in chat rooms come together,
To share and enjoy
The Internet weather.
A trillion trillion neurons sigh,
And come up with a thought of genius: "Hi!"
The giant brain computes again
And makes another play: “Hi!” back, they say.
Now things are getting harder,
Beyond "Hi!" is going farther;
But the bytes don’t let us down: "How are you?” is on the screen. “Good,” flashes back the electron beam. “Me2 – now what shall we do?”
The giant brain heaves and writhes,
Neuronal nets in a billion lives.
Concentrating crazily, computes:
"Gotta go now, CYA."
And Lesson 1 is ova.
“Now what did you learn,
Johnny-boy?” “That the Internet is not a toy?” “Yes, true – and false; and false and true;
But what did the experience mean to you?”
“That a million billion cells have a missing link.
They have no power to really think,
Past: “Hi” and “Bye.”
Now please let me go –
I need a drink!
